'Save BBC6' gig announced

Quietus favourites I Like Trains and Ian McNabb of The Icicle Works will play a benefit gig for BBC 6Music at 93 Feet East on May 4 from 6pm.

McNabb will headline the show along with Goldheart Assembly, with support coming I Like Trains and Isa & The Filthy Tongues amongst others.

Those unable to make the gig will also be able to listen online at www.tourdates.co.uksave6.

Speaking about the show, McNabb said: "6Music needs to stay open because it is the only station in the UK that mixes up music by the minute. You'll hear Goldheart Assembly into a John Peel session version of an Orange Juice tune and then Communication Breakdown by Led Zeppelin. I mean come on, who else does that?

"Also...a rare thing, the DJ's actually know something about music and realize we're there to hear music - not how quickly frogs spawn or what film premiere they're attending tonight."
