What do you get if you add together a little Coldplay with a hint of Mew with just a dash of A-Ha? A brand new band called Apparatjik obviously.
As we can exclusively reveal, Coldplay’s bass player Guy Berryman, Singer/Guitarist Jonas Bjerre of Mew and Magne Furuholmen from A-Ha have got together with producer/songwriter Martin Terefe and formed an all-new electronica act and we have some footage taken from their recent performance at the Berlin Club Transmediale festival right here to prove it:
Apparently the literal translation of Apparatjik is ‘agent of the apparatus’ which comes from the Russian originated word ‘apparatchik’ usually used to describe ‘people who cause bureaucratic bottlenecks in otherwise efficient organisations’ so make of that what you will.
