Correcto’s Richard Wright Wins Turner Prize

Scottish guitarist wins art gong

Richard Wright, guitarist with Scottish rock group Correcto, was announced as the winner of the 2009 Turner Prize last night.

Wright, who also designed the artwork for Correcto’s 2007 self-titled debut, won the prize for his untitled painting wall painting complete with gold leaf detail.

The painting will be on display at the Tate Britain until January 3 2010, when it will be painted over with white emulsion and lost forever…
