Fans Want Nobel Peace Prize For Jacko

But singer can't actually win award...

Michael Jackson’s devoted legions of fans have signed online petitions to get the late pop singer honoured with a posthumous Nobel Peace Prize.

More than 15,000 people have added their names to petitions, some of which were started before Jackson’s death but have since skyrocketed in popularity.

One of the letters, written by Los Angeles student Anneliese Nichole Brown, pleads: "Michael’s message for humankind has always been rooted in compassion and kindness.

"He has succeeded in a lifelong dedication to the well-being of humanity. Moving beyond all political, social and economic borders, Michael Jackson consistently spread a positive message of global unity, healing and love."

As admirable as this sentiment is, there may be a potential obstacle ahead. Although posthumous prizes can be given out, only living people can actually make the shortlist.
