Guns N’ Roses Blogger Sentenced For Chinese Democracy Leak

Blogger receives a year's probation

A blogger who leaked part of the Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy has been sentenced to a year’s probation.

Kevin Cogill will have to serve two months of home confinement and subject his computers to government scrutiny after he pleaded guilty to copyright infringement earlier this year for leaking nine tracks from Chinese Democracy online.

He will also have to record a public service announcement for the Recording Industry Association of America.

Cogill apologised for his actions, claiming: "I never intended to hurt the artist.

"I intended to promote the artist because I’m a fan."
