Slipknot Drummer 'Gives Blood'
The Quietus , May 6th, 2009 13:10

Joey Jordison has donated blood to affirm his new signature stick, brotherhood and endorsement deal with Pro-Mark drum sticks. The Quietus thinks that true metallers should actually Give Blood but maybe that's just us.

His blood will be used as part in the ink that decorates his new collectable TX515W autographed model.

Commenting on the stick for the Pro-Mark website, Joey said: “The first wood stick I ever played was a Pro-Mark, so I am thrilled to be joining the family! To show everyone just how serious I am about my new signature 515s, I’ve even gone as far as putting my own blood in the ink for them. It’s not just my signature on these sticks, it’s me.”

A video of Joey at the Pro-Mark factory, giving blood and the mixing process has also been released.

Named after the Des Moines, Iowa area code of 515, the TX515W signature stick will go on sale in all good music stores in the US not before 5.15pm on 15th May. Eager UK can, however, pre-order their sticks at Rosetti or at Drum Shop. Online purchases will be dispatched on the launch date.

Fans have been able to witness Jordison in action with the new sticks for the first time on Slipknot’s recent sold out All Hope Is Gone arena tour in the United States. The band head to Europe in June to headline the likes of the Download Festival, Roskilde, Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park.

Plans are also being made for a very special 10th Anniversary version of their eponymous debut album, which will be released later this Autumn. For more details, stay tuned to the Slipknot website.
