But Is It Art, Mark? The Fall Celebrated In New Exhibition

'Paintwork#2' to run in London this spring

An international group of artists have contributed work connected to or inspired by The Fall to a forthcoming exhibition based around the band.

Running at London’s SW1 Gallery and curated by Praxis-Hagen of Berlin, ‘Paintwork#2’ will feature efforts from Simon Armitage, Jeffrey Lewis and Swell Maps’ Jowe Head.

The likes of Pascal le Gras, responsible for more than 30 Fall album covers, and others whose work has adorned the Manchester band’s record sleeves also lend talent to the show.

Paintwork#2 will open on May 14th at 7pm and then run from the 15th ‘til the 29th of that month – more information exists at the Praxis-Hagen website here.

The Fall-inspired art of some of those included in the exhibition – le Gras, Claus Castenskiold, Anthony Frost and Knud Odde – can be seen in the gallery below, though these specific pieces were done previously and will not feature at Paintwork#2.
