Meeting of minds to take place this weekend

On Saturday, March 21st there takes place in East London a unique meeting of musical minds.

In the roof space of the Rich Mix cinema and arts centre in Bethnal Green, silver caped sonic crusaders Chrome Hoof will be teaming up with Krautrock explorers for a one-off live collaboration at the Throwback! club night. Also on the bill are DJ sets by James Holden, excellent and well-dressed blogging gents 20Jazzfunkgreats and others.

You can find out more information about this rather exciting night of mayhem at the Facebook page, but in the meantime, The Quietus dropped Chrome Hoof a line to find out more about their plans for the event. Firstly, O Hoof, when did you become aware of Cluster, and what influence do they have on Chrome Hoof?

"From late 80's probably. Cluster's ripples are omnipresent."

And what do you plan to do at this momentous event?

"Piggy-back Cluster's mythical status, and by association, raise ours."

Will it be spontaneous or rehearsed?

"70 per cent spontaneous, 20 per cent rehearsed."

Are you going to offer Cluster some Chrome Hoof silver capes?

"Of course, but the ones where all the sequins have come off and look dull and lifeless - in an attempt to stitch them up - more so than we do with ourselves."
