Obfuscation abounds in the Yo La Tengo camp as ‘side project’ Condo Fucks prep the release of an LP, Fuckbook, due in March 2009 on Matador.
Members of the Connecticut trio played a covers set in Brooklyn under the sweary moniker with garage rockers The A-Bones back in March.
The ‘Fucks were also namechecked on the inner sleeve of Yo La Tengo’s 1990 album I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One where four of their perplexingly difficult-to-come-by releases were advertised.
A (thoroughly annoying) press release from Matador has this much to say for itself:
"The Condo Fucks are Georgia Condo (drums), Kid Condo (guitar) and James McNew (bass).
"Though the band are somewhat "old-school" about the modern social networking phenomena, there’s an unofficial Myspace page launching very soon."
Other gems from the highly dubious Condo fucks canon include ‘Fuckin’ Gary Sandy’, ‘Equality Sandwich’ and ‘More Than A Fucking’.
