Grace Jones Documentary Set For Release

Bumper Jones film to mix performance and vérité

A documentary chronicling the life and times of Grace Jones over the past ‘four or five’ years is set for release, says Grace Jones.

The actress and singer Grace Jones, whose recent Hurricane LP impressed The Quietus muchly, told BBC 6music that British filmmaker Sophie Fiennes had been filming the project and now faces a daunting cutting room stint to see the task through to its conclusion.

Says 60-year-old Grace Jones: "Sophie Fiennes has been following [Grace Jones] around for the last four or five years. It’s going to be at least nine months of editing, that’s how much material we’ve got.

"It’s a lot of performance, it’s [Grace Jones] in Jamaica, we had a family reunion and it’s the making of the new record."

A release date for the doc has yet to be announced.
