Dentist Banned From Prince Cover

Teeth Puller Not Permitted To Pull Teeth

A dentist who won a recording contract on the back of a cover of Prince's 'Purple Rain' has been forbidden to sing the ditty by the pint-sized popstar.

NHS tooth technician Andrew Bain secured a record deal with Sony BMG after sending them a demo of himself doing a cover of Prince's classic track. However, when the label sought clearance for the song to feature on Bain's forthcoming covers album, Prince told them to clear orf.

"Without 'Purple Rain' I wouldn’t be where I am today", wailed Bain in response to the news. "I struggled until I took a chance, mixed my operatic style with pop in 'Purple Rain', and realised my dreams."

The album, due next month, will still feature covers of The Smiths, Abba, and David Bowie.
