Pro gurner Mani has said that The Stone Roses would have jumped aboard the reformation gravy train if only Ian Brown wasn't so set against the idea.

"I spoke to John and Reni about it a few years ago and they said they'd love to do it at some point in time, but Ian Brown seems dead set against it," the former Roses bassist told the BBC.

"If he changes his mind then we'll probably do it, but then I'll be back to Primal Scream after the one year of doing it."

Ian Brown has, against all the odds and the laws of physics that create 'tune' from the passage of air through his gullet, has carved himself a successful solo career. Reni is currently, ah, um, while John Squire is exhibiting his Pollock-esque artwork.

Mani added that he was having so much fun hanging out with Bobby G and Thee Toxic Dads of Primal Scream that he wasn't that arsed about the Roses reforming anyway. "I think it's quite disrespectful to talk about The Stone Roses reforming when I'm having such a great time with the Scream," he said.
