Out in June, it's preceded by lead track 'Survival'

Bad Breeding are set to release a new album, Contempt.

Comprised of 10 tracks, it builds on 2022's Human Capital LP in exploring the continued effects that the Conservative Government's austerity policies have had on the UK public. The album will be released alongside a zine featuring multiple essays: one that follows the work of environmental and humanitarian journalist Aidan Frere-Smith, and another that tells the story of a homelessness crisis in a city full of unused housing. The band have shared lead track 'Survival' to mark the record's announcement, which you can listen to above.

In a statement about the themes covered on Contempt, Bad Breeding vocalist Christopher Dodd said: "Capital and its bourgeois foot soldiers hold nothing but contempt for working people and it's in that contempt we can find solidarity with one another. Whatever story gets sold and packaged, contempt guides every move of the capitalist class. We see it every day – unspeakable destruction from war and government-sponsored genocide, exploitation of workers and the very gutting of the planet we live on. Only when we realise and utilise the utter contempt held for us can we reach a level of class consciousness that will provide an adequate challenge to capital."

One Little Independent will release Contempt on June 14, 2024.
