Brussels festival Schiev has detailed its next edition, which takes place at Beursschouwburg in the Belgian capital next month.

A member of the SHAPE+ network of European cultural institutions, co-funded by the European Union, Schiev is described as a festival offering "a broad vision of avant garde pop music while trying to make it accessible to the widest possible audience". In residency at this year's event will be SHAPE+-supported artists Sebastien Forrester with Mika Oki and Apulati Bien, and Iztok Koren with Annelies Monseré and Ameel Brecht. Both trios will be presenting brand new work created together.

Elswhere, SHAPE+ artists Bela, Martyna Basta, Sara Persico and Pö will also be performing, while Felisha Ledesma, RONCE, Schntzl, Inner Voice Movement, Lamina, Na Tej Strani Nebes, Caro<3 and Tristan Bündler complete the music programme. The festival's conversation programme will see Ledesma present an introduction to modular synthesis, and there are also talks by Julian Henriques and Noé Beal scheduled to go ahead.

The final day of the festival will feature a label market showcasing more than 20 Belgian labels. There will also be DJ sets from the people who run those labels, as well as the Schiev Bazaar, featuring records, fanzines and more.

Schiev Festival will take place from February 2 to 4, 2024. Find more information here.
