Lea Bertucci - 'To Bridge The Chasm Of Experience'

I can already tell this album [Bertucci’s 2021 LP A Visible Length of Light] is a classic for me. It's one that I'm going to come back to again and again. Randall Dunn, who mixed Silvercoat The Throng for me, co-mixed this with Lea, so you can really hear his spatial stuff on this, too.

In a way, I thought it was funny that I put this song after 'The Electrician'. Not that I put these in any specific order, but I went through and listened to everything this morning, so it was all fresh in my mind. And that sort of sustain that happens with 'The Electrician', I feel like this track kind of picks up from there, and then it just keeps the sustain going.

It makes me think of when the sun hangs low. That part of the day, it just feels really hot and warm. It's very exploratory and primal for me. And the low end, the bass… beautiful! I was focusing on the subs happening in it, and the use of space that's happening in it. But yeah, it's a hard one to talk about.

I like when I can see the connection between things that I'm drawn to, even though they seem so different, like they live in different worlds. But they don't, really. So, look, I think Scott Walker would love this. That's what I'm getting at!
