£1.5 million will be set aside by Arts Council England to support venues and promoters working in the grassroots sector

Arts Council England has launched a new initiative to help support grassroots music venues and promoters across the country.

Dubbed The Supporting Grassroots Live Music, £1.5 million will be set aside by ACE to help successful applicants across three years. Those who do successfully apply for help will receive anywhere between £1000 and £40,000.

The money will only be available to those working within the grassroots sector, which ACE defines as "those working with new, developing talent in small to mid-size venues," and the organisation is encouraging venues and promoters from across a variety of music genres to apply for funding. Applicants should be able to prove that they can cover 10% of the total cost of their respective projects via other means.

ACE is accepting applications now and will continue to do so until March 31 of next year. Find more information on the fund and how to apply here.
