The next Zero Wave night curated by tQ art, books and film editor Bobby Barry will take place next Thursday, the 23rd August with the usual mixture of experimental music, composed and improvised, electronic and acoustic.

This month's edition of the club, taking place in the basement of Bloomsbury's Harrison Pub, will feature contributions from Palermo-born sound artist recording artist Luciano Maggiore. Known for his strong interest in the mechanisms of sound diffusion, using speakers and several analogue and digital devices (walkmans, CD players, tape recorders) as principal instruments, Maggiore has collaborated with the likes of Enrico Malatesta and Francesco Brasini, David Toop, Phil Julian, and Louie Rice. His records have been released by Senufo Editions, Mikroton, and Consumer Waste.

Also on the bill will be London-based artist Graham Dunning, whose 'mechanical techno' set-up has seen him perform recently at Green Man Festival, Contre-Temps, Splice Festival, and Supersonic, but on this occasion Dunning is promising something quite different, possibly involving little more than a snare drum and a few small motors.

Other acts confirmed include En Creux, aka Taiwanese producer of reductionist electronic music, Lucia H Chung, plus Barry's own ongoing collaboration with percussionist Emily Barnett as Far Rainbow.

Zero Wave is a bi-monthly non-profit space for experimental music taking place in the basement of the Harrison Pub, just off the Grey's Inn Road in Bloomsbury, North London. Previous Zero Wave events have featured the likes of Peter Zinovieff, Blurt, Colin Webster, Langham Research Centre, Anat Ben David, Larry Achiampong, Adam Bohman, Charles Hayward, Erica Scourti and Juliet Jacques.

Zero Wave #22 featuring Luciano Maggiore, Graham Dunning, En Creux, and Far Rainbow will take place at the Harrison, London, on 23 August. For more information please see the Facebook event page here or the Zero Wave tumblr blog. Advance tickets can be purchased from Billetto. Far Rainbow's most recent album-length release, A Disc of Rippling Mercury, is available from Bandcamp
