Andrew Wasylyk's most recent album, Themes For Buildings And Spaces, was described by the man himself as an instrumental soundtrack to his hometown of Dundee, with each of the album's eight tracks dedicated to a different location in the city.

Streaming above is the video for one of those tracks, 'Lower Dens Works', which takes its title from the city's jute mills built by the entrepreneurial Baxter brothers who became the world’s first linen manufacturers between 1840-90.

The video sees the Scottish songwriter performing alongside his live band at Dundee's Bell Street Music Centre. Amongst the footage of Andrew and the band performing are shots of him walking through various streets in his hometown, with one location featured being Dundee’s famous cemetery, 'The Howff' - an ancient burial ground given to the city by Mary Queen of Scots.

"Aside from the brass, I recorded the album on my own in the studio so it was a real treat to perform the music live with a nine-piece ensemble for this video," Andrew says. "I was keen to reference the exhausting machinery work of the mills in this track with a relentless mechanical drum pattern with a sort of 'Philly Soul' palette, only more ethereal and much more dour!"

The track is the second single to be released from his latest album which is out now via Tape Club Records. A limited edition 10" vinyl and digital version of the album will be available from November 10 through the label also.
