Newcastle-based duo Warm Digits deliver a remix for label mates Dutch Uncles

Dutch Uncles have shared a brand new remix of their recent single 'Big Balloon' by Newcastle-based, Memphis Industries-signed duo Warm Digits. You can check it out exclusively above.

The pair turn the track into a driving, cosmic disco groover, with Steve Jefferis of Warm Digits saying: "The original's seductive, sideways-on rhythms don't provide an easy starting point for a remix. But once Andrew [Hodson] hit upon the idea of translating the original song's rough-and-tumble into a blissed-out balearic belter, we wheeled out our 303s and squelched off into the sunset."

Hodson adds: "We slowed the song down to 130 from 170 beats per minute to make it Discoo, took the swing groove out of the instruments, and added a Liquid Liquid Optimo sheen to it."

Dutch Uncles' Robin Richards also had this to say about the remix and the duo: "I saw Warm Digits support Field Music in Manchester years ago and remember being blown away by their propulsive krautrock style, with that North-East charm that we all love. When we found out they were not only becoming label mates at Memphis Industries, but also wanted to remix one of our tunes we were more than happy to let them loose on our single."

The track is being released alongside a remix from British Sea Power, and comes amidst a series of upcoming live shows from Dutch Uncles, including two appearances at this weekend's Glastonbury. You can check their list of tour dates here.
