The The have shared a new video for recent single 'We Can't Stop What's Coming'. You can watch it above.

The track was released last month as part of Record Store Day on a now sold-out limited single. The video takes in footage from Inertia Varations, a new documentary on Matt Johnson, vocalist for The The and the only constant member of the band to date. That documentary will premiere soon at Edinburgh International Film Festival.

'We Can't Stop What's Coming' is The The's first track in 15 years, and features Matt Johnson alongside former The The members Zeke Manyika on percussion, James Eller on bass and Johnny Marr on guitar. The record was limited to 2000 copies and made available on one-sided 7" vinyl. The track also features on the upcoming documentary on Johnson.

Inertia Variations is is centred around Matt Johnson’s 12-hour conceptual shortwave station Radio Cineola which included previously unreleased music and interviews with geopolitical commentators from around the world. The station aimed to provide an alternative to mass media.

The documentary offsets the poetry of John Tottenham against Johnson examining his sometimes troubled relationship with celebrity and the creative process, while also looking at how the tragic deaths of his mother and two of his brothers has informed his work and general outlook. It premieres at Edinburgh International Film Festival which takes place from June 21 - July 2. For more information, click here.
