Stephen Clarce, the man behind gig promoter Wrongpop, wants to say thanks and give something back to the organisation Checkemlads, which helped him defeat testicular cancer earlier this year, so he has put together a compilation.

The compilation features 26 exclusive songs, mostly unreleased material or live recordings, and takes in music from many of the UK's most interesting current rock groups. Many of the bands lean toward the decidedly heavier side, with names like Hey Collosus and Taman Shud showing up, next to more mellow tunes. The whole thing is just £5 and all of the money made with the sales is going directly to Checkemlads. But hurry, because it will only be available for another week. You can purchase it here.

The selection begins with a heavy math-trip by Manchester 'turbo prog' band Cleft, whose 'Frankenstein', recorded live at Bush Hall, we are steaming above. Later on in the compilation, the Alpha Male Tea Party deliver a slowed down acoustic rendition of their curiously titled 'You Eat Hummous, Of Course You Listen To Genesis' and you can check that out below.
