Two-day event to be held over first weekend in December, with over 50 labels setting up shop

The Independent Label Market is set to return this Christmas for a two-day event.

Once again held in Old Spitalfields Market, the event will take place on December 1-2, and will see the head honchos of more than 50 labels flogging their wares.

The list of participating labels includes Bella Union, Brownswood, Fabric, Peacefrog, Heavenly, One Little Indian, Soul Jazz, Rough Trade, Acid Jazz, Believe, Fika, Tape Club, GETME!, Ground Level, Hottwerk, Infectious, !K7, Killing Moon, Laissez Faire Club, LoJinx, No Pain In Pop, Planet Mu, Stranger Records and Strut.

As well as having their current catalogue for sale, the labels will also be selling rarities and merchandise, and there should be one or two live appearances from roster artists.

The event is the first in the ILM's new partnership with AIM, who are aiming to help expand the Market further afield.

Says Alison Wenham, CEO of AIM: “Joe [Daniel] and Katie [Riding, ILM founders] came up with a simple, a great idea, and put it into practice. As AIM is the home of the world’s greatest indie labels, we are naturally delighted to be able to support the development of the Independent Label Market. We intend to do this in partnership with WIN, the Worldwide Independent Network, our global trade body."
