Short films from film network's annual festival screening tonight in Deptford

Short film network Future Shorts are having a screening of five new shorts at the A.P.T. Gallery in Deptford, as part of their annual festival.

They say: "In the cavernous surroundings of the gallery space, guests will be invited to bring a cushion and enjoy the first London screening of the Future Shorts Festival Autumn Programme. A live music performance by acclaimed London duo Peter and Kerry will follow the screening in the front space of the gallery. Inspired by the Safdie brother's film from the new Festival programme, 'The Black Balloon', you will also be invited to give a black balloon with a stranger."

To attend, send an e-mail to festival@futureshorts.com; for more details, head over to the event's Facebook page.

As a taster, have a watch of one of the films that will be showing, the rather ace 'A Brief History of John Baldessari', directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, whose previous credits include Catfish and the last two Paranormal Activity flicks, and featuring a great narratorial turn from Tom Waits - watch it now, it's the best way to spend the next 5 minutes 55 seconds of your Friday afternoon:
