Simon Price, of long running Bristol crew The Heads, is set to release his debut album as kandodo on 11th June through Thrill Jockey. A series of sun-fried psych instrumentals that draw heavily from the druggy haze of Spacemen 3 and the wide open vistas conjured by kosmische music and Ennio Morricone, it was inspired by Price's childhood in Malawi. In advance of its release he's released a suitably fuzzed-out video for the track 'kandodo' - watch it above.

"kandodo is for Price an exploration of tones, chords, and textures that evoke a very particular emotional response, a sense of yearning," says the text accompanying the album release announcement. "These instrumental pieces are lyrical and evocative soundtracks with an elongated and elegant song structure."
