San Francisco improvisational space rock unit Carlton Melton are preparing to send London psychonauts into low Earth orbit with two free shows tonight.

They're launching their new long player Country Ways with a gig at Rough Trade East at 7.45pm. And as a bonus, everyone who buys the album will get a free mix CD. More details here.

Then they're moving on to The Victory, on Kingsland Road, Dalston, Hackney to join forces with two of our favourite noise rock bands Liverpool's Mugstar and the Anglo-American Dethscalator.

Quietus co-pilot John Doran will probably be DJing but don't let that put you off going.
