Was it your idea to draw birds, or was it suggested to you?

I was stuck a bit, endlessly drawing a cartoon man, until Grace, my wife, suggested I draw a bird again. After the first crude attempt, I got better and better.

Did relearning to draw with your left hand change your approach?

Yes, my style is more graphic as a result. But it changes as I improve my technique.
