Scottish artist Peter Howson’s nude portrait of Madonna and ex-husband Guy Ritchie is to go under the hammer at McTear’s auction house in Glasgow with a predicted fetching price of £22,000.
The painting has generated increased interest since the much-publicised split of the pair. The canvas portrays Guy Ritchie as a latter-day Lenny, the loveable mouse-destroying simpleton from John Steinbeck’s ‘Of Mice And Men’, whilst the depiction of Madonna should satisfy anyone who has wondered what Fabio and Barbara Streisand’s love child would look like.
