They describe the track as "a psychedelic pop song about astronauts, space and alienation"

Membranes have shared a new single, titled 'Border Blurred'.

The track is the post-punk mainstays' first new material to emerge since 2019's What Nature Gives, Nature Takes Away LP and was originally written during the sessions for that album. It's since undergone a radical rework, ready for its release, which comes amid plans for a double vinyl reissue of What Nature Gives... that is available via the band's Bandcamp page. Listen to the track above.

"This song should have been on the What Nature Gives, Nature Takes Away album," says Membranes frontman John Robb, "but we just couldn't finish it. After a radical re-haul it now feels fresh and new, and reflects these times where culture borders are truly blurred, whilst also being a song about dislocation and being an astronaut floating in space looking back at the end of times of the planet Earth."

'Borders Blurred' is out now on Definite Gaze.
