Chicago label DJ International is putting out a previously unreleased and never-before-heard track by the late Frankie Knuckles.

'I Want The Love Of My Own' was discovered in its original 2-inch reel-to-reel tape by the label, and was originally recorded during a studio session in the '80s. It's believe to be one of a few unreleased tracks by the legendary producer from this period. Producer Eric Kupper, who worked alongside Knuckles until his death in 2014, has remastered the track for its release in October, which will mark the 35th anniversary of Knuckles' first record, 'You Can't Hide'.

The release will be accompanied by a number of remixes, as well as DJ International merch that has been produced in partnership with The Frankie Knuckles Foundation. All proceeds from both will go to Chicago's Brave Space Alliance, a Black and trans-run not-for-profit LGBTQ+ organisation that supports music education in schools, as well as AIDS research and education, and more.
