Psychological Strategy Board follow up their acclaimed album Penny Slinger - Out Of The Shadows with their first original material in several years with the new single 'Sophia 6'/ 'Alter' which you can stream just below.

Specialist label Dog Tunnel have made the tracks available as a lathe-cut, with each copy (and cover) produced by hand on a restored, professional-quality, valve-driven RCA machine from the rock & roll era! The duo who embrace a strategy of relinquishing control left Dog Tunnel a free hand to record and mix without interference and avoided influencing the recording process which was directly laid down and mixed on tape.

Maybury of the duo says: "We basically set up in the hallway of Dog Tunnel's crazy-ass studio in Elephant and Castle and improvised around some themes we had been working out live over the summer. The clash of Paul's electric toothbrush and analogue electronics and my loops and synth and the massive reverb panel in the building the sound was just nuts... barely in control. The end result is us but filtered through Dog Tunnel's own recording sensibility which is exactly what we wanted. And there can be no doubt that this is the first truly great lathe cut release of the 21st Century."

The release is also available on cassette, more details here
