AWS DeepComposer is able to create a full composition from just a single melody

Amazon has announced a new AI-powered MIDI keyboard that has the ability to create full original compositions from one single inputted melody.

The AWS DeepComposer, which is retailing at $99, allows users to record a melody using the keyboard before providing the option to choose from a number of genres, such as rock, pop, classical and jazz, to complete the track.

Amazon says that "no musical knowledge" is required to use the AWS DeepComposer. You can get a more rounded idea of what the machine is capable of via the demo recordings here. It will be available to purchase soon.

Amazon has been under increasing fire recently from figures within the music industry following its decision to get into the musical festival business with the launch of Intersect. A number of musicians and other figures have vowed to boycott Amazon-sponsored events over the company's ties to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Black Madonna and JPEGMAFIA have both cancelled their appearances at Intersect since it was announced, with the former claiming that Amazon's involvement in the event was not made clear in any contracts.
