BOB's Convenience Gets 30th Anniversary 7" Release
John Doran , November 15th, 2019 10:17

Even if I say so myself, BOB's 'Convenience' is one of the greatest 7" singles ever released and it celebrates its 30th birthday this week with a reissue on green, amber or red coloured vinyl courtesy of Optic Nerve Recordings.

The song, which originally came out on House Of Teeth and was almost like a last and definitive hurrah for jangle pop before the start of the 1990s, was a regular on the John Peel show and made his Festive Fifty of that year.

The B-side is the previously unreleased 'Coquette' track from 1992. The single is limited to 800 copies and comes with poster and sticker. Why waste time fretting over whether it's OK to listen to 'Suedehead' or not when you could simply bin the Morrissey 7" and listen to this superior BOB track in guilt free luxuriance.

BOB have an upcoming farewell tour and plan an album of unreleased material for next Spring.

More details of this and other ON reissues (including The House Of Love, The Primitives, The Wedding Present and The Vaselines etc.) can be found here.
