The first release from a new label supported by Optimo Music collects tracks from female artists for International Women's Day

Tomorrow (March 8) sees new label Weaponise Your Sound fully launch with the release of a compilation of the same name.

Supported by Optimo Music, the label is the brainchild of Kristina McCormick, who is also behind NTS radio show Diet Clinic - a show geared towards showcasing the work of women who produce and DJ. In accordance with that - and International Women's Day which is tomorrow - Weaponise Your Sound's first release collects music from a number of female artists, and can be streamed above ahead of its release.

Featured amongst the compilation's 11 tracks is music from Cucina Povera, C.A.R., Sue Zuki and Penelope Trappes, plus many others. The full digital release tomorrow comes after a small run cassette release last year which caught the attention of Optimo's Keith McIvor who decided to back a wider release via Optimo Music. McCormick collected the music featured through a variety of personal channels, calling upon producers known to her and also those who had sent her music for her radio shows.

All proceeds from the new release of Weaponise Your Sound will be donated to London-based charity Focus E15, an action group fighting social cleansing and advocating for decent housing for all. Find out more about their work here. There will also be a launch event for the release at Hackney's The Glove That Fits tomorrow. Find more information here.
