Skläsh is the new album from LeRoy, the one-man project of Munich-based musician Leo Hopfinger. Taking in influences of dubbed out Krautrock and funk and melding it all together with a DIY sensibility, we are delighted to offer you the first listen of that album in full above.

The album, which sees release through the Schamoni Musik, is out this Friday. Of his work as LeRoy, Hopfinger says: “My approach to creativity is diverse. It's like collecting pieces of various puzzles." The album comprises various field recordings and samples as well as "ambient sounds", says Hopfinger. “I see this album more like a collection, a musical chronicle. Like a DJ who is digging some strange tunes, no matter which era they are from.”

Furthermore, Hopfinger says that putting together the album allowed him an opportunity to push for more esoteric climes. "There were definitely a lot more crowd-pleasing songs on the album but we kicked them all out! First I felt uncomfortable about this, maybe because of production or ego issues, but now I am very, very happy with the album. It is music for opened-minded people, lovers, collectors.” You can pre-order the album here.
