Futurismo are a label doing their level best to make sure that no worthy album of the new wave era gets left behind or forgotten. With re-releases from Devo, Our Daughter's Wedding and, most recently, synthpunk trailblazers The Units, they're now putting out Suburban Lawns' self-titled (and only) LP.

The Long Beach post punk new-wavers, born from the brains of William 'Vex Billingsgate' Ranson, and wide-eyed wunderkind Sue 'Su Tissue' McLane, were a short-lived affair amassing barely a handful of recordings over the course their five-year life span. Despite TV slots, a Jonathan Demme (Silence Of The Lambs) directed music video, and a song that featured one of the best instances of Chinese whispers ever encountered ('Janitor') the Californian five-piece lost momentum in 1983 and their names went almost unspoken for the next two decades.

Originally released in 1981, Suburban Lawns will be reissued on vinyl and CD this summer.
