Iron Maiden frontman has completed a course of treatment, with the prognosis looking "extremely good"

A statement on the Iron Maiden website and Facebook page has revealed that vocalist Bruce Dickinson has being undergoing treatment for cancer. His seven-week course of chemotherapy and radiology treatment came to an end yesterday, with the statement saying that "as the tumour was caught in the early stages, the prognosis thankfully is extremely good."

The tumour at the back of his tongue was found during a routine check-up. The 56-year-old expects to receive the all-clear sometime in May. The statement continued: "In the meantime we would ask for your patience, understanding and respect for Bruce and his family’s privacy until we update everyone by the end of May. Bruce is doing very well considering the circumstances and the whole team are very positive." If you're a fan, we really recommend that you check out the amount of messages of support that are being left under the post on the band's Facebook page.
