Rival Sons have just released their fourth studio album, Great Western Valkyrie, and have kindly given us a full stream - have a listen above. The new record is shaped heavily by the "conscious decision for this band to be just what it is," according to vocalist Jay Buchanan.

Following up from Head Down, their 2012 effort, the band are ploughing on with their decidedly no-nonsense approach. "We have one of the greatest rock and roll drummers and guitarists on the planet," explains Buchanan, "so let's be a straight up rock and roll band." Acknowledging the band's reputation for rapidly producing albums, he adds: "Five records in, it just happens. The gestation period passes and you realise that you've chain-smoked and binge-drank your way through another pregnancy."
