Plus, win a pair of tickets to the inaugural edition of the festival, with Grumbling Fur, Teeth Of The Sea, Lakker and more, taking place in Reading next month

Ahead of their set at next month's Third Rail festival, London/Brighton duo Black Channels have given us an ace mix to whet appetites - listen to 'Constellation Of Gemini' above.

"We're really happy to be playing Third Rail," says Becky of Black Channels. "Actually that's a bit of an understatement! To be in a field by the banks of the Thames listening to weird electronic sounds feels like a good way to spend your time indeed. We're especially looking forward to getting lost in Grumbling Fur and Lakker." Have a watch of their debut single 'Oracles' here.

The 19-track mix, featuring Daphne Oram, Cocteau Twins, John Carpenter and The Durutti Column among others (full tracklisting here), precedes the duo's main stage performance at the new festival, lining up alongside Grumbling Fur (who just announced their new album on the Quietus Phonographic Corporation), Teeth Of The Sea, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Polar Bear, Lakker, Oliver Wilde, Crushed Beaks and a Quietus DJ set.

The festival is a new event organised by Jo Bartlett and Danny Hagan (the duo who founded Green Man) and promises to "combine the variety of a festival with the intimacy of a gig"; head to the official website here. It takes place at Thames Prom in Reading on July 5 and we're pleased to be able to offer a pair of tickets to one lucky competition winner. To be in with a chance of winning, just send your answer to the following super-tough question to comps@thequietus.com with 'THIRD RAIL' in the subject line.

Q: Which act from the Third Rail line-up shares their name with an Arctic-dwelling species of giant bear?

A. Polar Bear
B. Lakker
C. A Winged Victory For The Sullen
D. Grumbling Fur

The competition closes at midday on Monday 23 June. To read the Quietus Competition Terms & Conditions, click here.
