Quietus Mix 42: Tarwater's Ballroom Of Mars
The Quietus , September 15th, 2011 08:02

Space music in many forms from Tarwater's Bernd Jestram and Ronald Lippok

After last week's desert raving from Ladytron's mix, it's time for German electronic duo Tarwater to take us out to space in a mix to celebrate their ace new album Inside The Ships, out next week. Say Tarwater: "Science Fiction had a big influence on the new Tarwater record Inside The Ships that was originally inspired by plans for a space opera. Plans which might come true in the (near or far) future. The Ballrooms Of Mars mix for The Quietus is a collage of tracks that are related to science fiction, a trip that will leed you from space rock to East German film music. From Herbie Hancock to Marc Bolan and from the early 50s to now. And don't worry. They show you how to dance. Inside the ships."
