Alessio from Banjo Or Freakout gets ready for Stag & Dagger with a set of brilliant Italian pop, disco, and more

We're huge fans of Alessio Natalizia here at the Quietus, responsible as he is for both Banjo Or Freakout and Walls, two of the finest musical groups currently to be found in London town. But these grey walls illuminated by light pollution and the psychedelic vomitus of idiot Brits must occasionally become tiresome to a man brought up in a beautiful Medieval Italian village... leading him to thoughts of home. With this in mind, Alessio has put together a dreamy mix of music from his homeland, the only criteria being that "it is fucking amazing", and that it's the sort of thing he feels deserved to be heard further afield. Who are we to disagree? We're also pleased to say that Banjo Or Freakout play our stage at the Stag & Dagger Festival tomorrow (May 19th) alongside New Young Pony Club, Alexander Tucker and Rayographs. More details of that
