Art exhibition to be displayed in London

The self-titled debut album from Quietus favourites The xx will be turned into a 3D sculpture and displayed in London.

Artist Saam Farahmand will create a "physical interpretation" of the record which will be exhibited at The Vinyl Factory from January 8 to 12.

The sculpture will feature light and sound projections from three different visual units, with each one representing one member of The xx.

Farahmand said: "Music videos are a 2D visual interpretation of a song. We are interested in creating spaces that exist as a 3D physical interpretation of a song or an album, and that is what we have created for the album.

"It shares sensibilities with art installations but it should not be considered in this context – it is in essence a physical music video, a looping shrine to the album that you cannot compress, send or turn off."
