Space prog rockers Muse have announced they will debut their new single 'Uprising' at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Muse will be appearing on the US show for the first time and are using the opportunity to blast out their first single from forthcoming new album The Resistance.

Singer Matt Bellamy said: "We are honoured to be invited to play at the VMAs, which will be our first ever US performance of our debut single from our new album... and of course another great excuse to hang out in New York City for a few days!"
