Rough Trade Bring Exclusives To ‘C09’ Tape Comp
The Quietus , March 13th, 2009 07:20

Release planned as part of Record Store Day ‘09 celebrations

Rough Trade Records will issue a limited edition cassette compilation as a nod to the feted ‘C81’ and ‘C86’ releases of the 80s.

The comp features contributions from a host of acts on Rough Trade’s roster, including Antony & the Johnsons, Arthur Russell, Super Furry Animals and Mystery Jets, who lend their version of ‘Inbetween Days’ featured on a recent Cure covers CD given away with the NME.

Micachu and Jeffrey Lewis have contributed exclusive or previously unreleased material for the tape, assembled to celebrate this year’s Record Store Day on Saturday April 18th.

The album begins with what Rough Trade describe as “a special exclusive premiere of a track by one of Rough Trade’s most high profile artists”.
