New Devo Album Due

“Who better to guide us through the mess than DEVO?”

Devo will release their first album in 19 years this autumn.

The group weren’t any more precise than that in their announcement and have given no indication yet of what the record might be called.

They (or their press officer) did, however, have this to say about the first full set of new material since 1990’s Smooth Needle Maps:

“De-evolution has finally arrived... and who better to guide us through the mess than DEVO. What the iconic new wave, art punk pioneers cautioned us about almost 30 years ago is no longer a humorous theory. It's pretty much fact--we now live in a devolved world that’s getting wackier each and every day.”

The band are in the studio now putting the finishing touches to the album ahead of an appearance at industry jamboree South By South West.
