The Quietus , February 3rd, 2009 10:51

Excellent Thames Valley pot bashers Mystery Jets have signed to Rough Trade, it was announced today.

The group, who were previously on pseudo-indie 679 Recordings, have inked a new deal with Geoff Travis' label, reports CMU. A disembodied voice speaking from the RT bunker announced "We are delighted to announce that Mystery Jets have signed to Rough Trade. One of the brightest bands to emerge from these shores in the past decade, they join Rough Trade at the peak of their powers".

Geoff Travis then popped up his genial noggin to inform the daily music news mailout that "The Mystery Jets are in my opinion the best British group since The Libertines and I have been wanting to work with them for a very long time, so I am delighted they have chosen to join the roster".
