The Quietus Take Over Islington On Saturday Night
John Doran , January 23rd, 2009 08:38

Belgium: like Event Horizon but with a wider variety of monk brewed beer

Well, we're not taking over Islington but we are taking over the record decks at our local The Mucky Pup near Angel, just off Essex Road.

Luke and John will be joined by a confusion of Quietus scribes to play the best in new music and reissues, from the last few months. So come down and say hello! (Unless you're that nutcase from Portsmouth who got sectioned after threatening to decapitate John with a Samurai sword or any of the other people who have threatened to kill him.)

Above is a photograph of the pair on a rather ill-fated mission to watch Wire in Belgium, which proved to be like one of the more harrowing scenes involving Sam Neil with no eyes but with a bigger selection of monk brewed ales.

On the playlist for tomorrow night: Bruce Springsteen, Animal Collective, 23 Skidoo, Roxanne Shante, PJ Harvey and John Parrish, Telepathe, Gang Gang Dance, Micachu and the Shapes, Franz Ferdinand, Aidan Moffat, Joy Division, Antony and the Johnsons, Pavement, ACR, Barrington Levy, Loop, Grace Jones, David Bowie, Simon Bookish, Suicide, Magazine, Squarepusher, Cabaret Voltaire, Action Beat, Women, Diplo, Dalek, Peter Tosh, Michigan and Smiley, Telefon Tel Aviv, St Etienne, Harmonic 313, A Camp, The Only Ones.

Come one, come all!
