Blur Reform For Big Gigs

Damon and Graham bury the hatchet

After months of speculation, hoo-ha, and internet forum prevaricating, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon have jointly announced that Blur are to get back together to play Hyde Park next summer.

NME.com nabbed the exclusive announcement this morning, with Damon Albarn telling the website "It just felt it was right again. It somehow feels like there's something for us to do again, we're not completely useless or pointless, we've got a reason to exist."

Coxon added that the pair were "making public what's been going on a little bit privately. For the benefit of the fans and those interested we can say that something's on the cards".

What is on the cards, then, is a gig in London's Hyde Park on July 2nd 2009 (tickets onsale Friday), with further UK dates in the pipeline.
