Sixties icon ropes in Richards, Cave and co for new record

MArianne Faithfull

Husky '60s songstress Marianne Faithfull has assembled a stellar cast of collaborators for her new LP Easy Come, Easy Go, out now on iTunes and available from January 19th through UMTV.

Nick Cave, Jarvis Cocker, Keith Richards, Chan Marshall of Cat Power, Anthony Hegarty, Rufus Wainwright and Warren Ellis are among the roll call of contributors to the double album, recorded in December 2007 at New York's Sear Sound, and produced by Hal Willner.

All that, and she's got a nifty-looking band together too, comprising Tom Waits collaborators Marc Ribot and Greg Cohen, Rob Burger, Barry Reynolds and the Dirty Three's Jim White.

Faithfull's 22nd long player takes the form of a collection of covers including takes on Morrissey's 'Dear God Please Help Me', Brian Eno's 'How Many Worlds', Dolly Parton's 'Down From Dover' and the Decemberists' 'The Crane Wife 3' among others.
