Now it has emerged that none other than guppy-chinned former pop sensation Robbie Williams has been having nightmares about Eighties Saturday tea time staples Little and Large.

The disturbing truth came out when Syd Little told Lancashire's 105.6 Central Radio that (Sometimes) Fat Bob had rung him up in the middle of the night to confess the problem: "I couldn't believe it when Robbie rang me up and I just thought it was Bobby Davro winding me up doing an impression," Little said. "But then he explained that he'd been talking to Jonathan Wilkes and I realised the call was genuine."

He added: "Robbie then went on to say that he had recurring dreams, almost nightmares, which involved Little and Large but, now that he'd spoken to me, the dream had been broken."
