Stewart Lee talks about his work as a journalist, the writing of HP Lovecraft, Arthur Machen and MR James, Brexit, Trump and more at this intimate Quietus event

We are very excited to announce that The Quietus Social will soon welcome as a special guest the world's finest stand-up comedian, Stewart Lee.

On 16 October at The Social, Little Portland Street, London, the comic, author and broadcaster will be in conversation with tQ Editor John Doran talking about his writing and his interest in weird fiction. There will be an audience Q & A, and he'll be hanging around to sign copies of his latest book March Of The Lemmings - a collection of newspaper columns, the annotated script to his recent Content Provider live show, amongst other writing. Out now through Faber & Faber, the book has been described as "the scathing, riotous record the Brexit era deserves".

The multi-award winning comedian (and occasional tQ feature writer) has been at the cutting edge of British stand-up for over 30 years and as well as his numerous sold-out and critically-acclaimed tours, he achieved considerable notoriety as the co-writer of Jerry Springer: The Opera. Not only that, but as he is a true head when it comes to music, the evening will begin with a full vinyl playback of an album of his choosing.

There will also be a late bar and DJs. Doors at 7pm, the action starts at 7.30pm.

And tickets are available right here from DICE and right here from See Tickets. It's £12 in advance or £14 on the door (but we've got a strong feeling that this one is going to sell out, so be warned).
